Wow you expect the console winner next gen to take 60% of the market? Can you explain why? That seems like quite an extreme position. The winner this gen is at 40% and that is slowly dropping.
I think PS4/720 will share 75-80% of the market in some fashion with a near equal split.

It is because you can't play with your friends online if they have an Xbox 360 and you have a PS3 and vice versa. The biggest exclusive the consoles have is their online networks. It is unreasonable for people to have two consoles which play 90% the same games and sometimes multiple copies of the same titles in order to not miss out on playing with their friends.

Okay, but why do you think so many will go one way versus the other versus a relatively equal split like with PS360?

Because one of them will win simply by being in the lead. Everyone is connected in some way to everyone else (6 degrees of separation) once one of the two networks has a lead it will become overwhelming simply because it will cause other people to join that same network. The advantage in Sony dominated regions is going towards Sony simply because they are the best console to buy if you want to play with your friends and the same applies to the U.S. even though the consoles are relatively well matched and on the surface the PS3 provides better value.
