And I answered them with a link that explains that the 2 trillion thing wasn't changed at all by 9/11 happening and was reported months prior to 9/11, only reported once more on the day before.

This was his testimony in front of congress. Much different that some numbers in a newspaper or internal document. It was completely forgotten after 9/11.
