Console are becoming less gaming. What a sad time we live in

No they aren't. They are just becoming more other things. More other things doesn't need to mean less gaming. How does this, or multi media apects, diminish the gaming aspect in any way?

I always thought Microsoft cares the least about the game industry.  They are more focused on getting an entertainment hub in every single living room.  Sure it is the goal of Sony and Nintendo also.  However, I believe Microsoft entered the console business with more of a multimedia hub focus than gaming.  If they were gaming focus then they would have more first party teams.

Then why the hell didn't they allow DVD play back with the original xbox you had to buy an add on to do that . And with the 360 no Blu-Ray, No HDDVD again you had to buy an add on. So your point is fulse

They had Netflix first which is almost just as important as having Blu Ray in USA.  There are millions of Netflix instant stream subscribers in the USA.

Having to buy the remote to unlock DVD was just a money grab for the original xbox.  Notice they didn't do that again for the 360.
