If 720 is $350-$400, Wii U is going to have some serious trouble moving units. That's a sexy price.

That probably also means it will not be as powerful as many have predicted (especially if they bundle kinect functionality), and the Wii U will most likely have a price cut by then and be in the $250-$300 range with a lot of good games.

Depends how big of a loss MS is willing to take on the console. Wii U is selling at a small loss because of the tablet controller. Didn't we get estimates that the tablet alone was $75-$100 of the cost? Plenty of wiggle room there for MS to take a small loss especially if XBL is still subscription-based to recoup initial loss on units.

It will definitely be more powerful than the U, but I've seen some pretty ridiculous rumors about the power, I mean rumors of specs that would cost $1000-$1500+ to build as a PC.

Those $100 easily are goint to Blu Ray player, Kinect, Hard Drive, Ethernet Port, Digital udio Output. So in terms of raw power they should be at least on the same league, but sure not at the same level. It won't be that far. One gimick balance the other. Micrsoft also has its gimmicks.
