If Sony has the resources to Invest in 1st party support (as they've done+ continue to do wit the Vita) then they have the resources to reallocate many of those investments towards securing titles with 3rd part licences. As I mentioned they would have been better paying money to kickstart 3rd party developing as opposed to pushing pointless games like Resistance or even Killzone. Sony's franchises are weak aoutside of a few, so why waste time/money when your system is in need for big hitters. The payments to Square enix for FFType0, Kingdom hearts and DQX probably sounds like the most expensive thing on my list but its not like they're building a massive game from the ground up. They'd simply be porting from a weak system to a more powerfull system, although square is greedy they would not need tons of money to be convinced as they themselfs will ultimately profit from those games if they were to release on the Vita. Ni No Kuni and Morrowind will also be ports, Morrowind will be the highest costing but it would definitely sell 1m+. Games like Unreal tournament are not costly (there is no campaign), The Borderlands spinoff will mostly use Borderlands 2 assets and be low cost (think FFX-2). I think people overstate sony's financial problems, they're not in the position to take billion dollar risks on hardware where they bleed $100 every system sold or spend excessive amounts on RnD for new TVs, but investment in games is far less costly and also a much a safer bet because the games are likely to make their money back. This Plan wouldn't remove resources from the ps4.
