I didn't know Windows 8 were doing so bad. Is it really that bad?

The OS isn't bad at all, infact its quite good and flexible as long as you set it up properly.

As far as Windows 8 sales in general, we will see next Thursday when earnings come in. 60 million "upgrades sold" and inline with Windows 7 was in the latest statement from Microsoft people.

I tried it and found it very nice. It is quite fast. The tiles screen is a pleasure to look at, I especailly loved the email app. It was a bit of a chore to use it without a touch screen though. It takes some time getting used to.

If 60 million Windows 8 upgrades sold, there would be about 5 million Windows RT devices out there. I don't buy it. Any more then 2 million and I will be very surprised.

Keep in mind that this is adduplex data. adduplex is an advertising platform like Google Adsense and their reach may be very limited to apps which use adduplex. If you dont install an app which uses adduplex, you dont register on their radar. Most of desktop users arent installing apps left right and center so it makes sense that surface users, who only have the app store to turn to would register a high amount of devices that adduplex reaches.
