Also, do black people really prefer to be called "african american", or do they not care if you just say black. Maybe I'm not right in the head but to me it's almost more racist when people say "african american" because it's like they're going out of their way to not sound racist which in turn makes them more racist. When I played soccer on all black teams, or all brown teams I don't care if they call me white boy. I certainly wouldn't expect them to go out of their way to say "the canadian from romania". |
No, that is just USA thing. Everywhere else they are black.
In my country, the n-word is acceptable too.
The "N" word should never be acceptable. And yes, what he did or his GF did is racist.
That is subjective and a cultural thing.
When I was learning to read, the abc book had a black man with the N-letter. The n-word comes from the name of the subspecies(negroid) of human race.
Which N word are we talking about? Negro is still acceptable in a lot of countries (where you'll catch heat from calling black people negroes in America, but to a much lesser degree than "nigger.")
I'll confirm this. I'n Romanian "negro" means the color black. So while it sounds similar to other more offensive words it's not the same thing.
I was walking down along the street and I heard this voice saying, "Good evening, Mr. Dowd." Well, I turned around and here was this big six-foot rabbit leaning up against a lamp-post. Well, I thought nothing of that because when you've lived in a town as long as I've lived in this one, you get used to the fact that everybody knows your name.
