Then Valve shouldn't be on this list either since DOTA, Team Fortress and Portal 2 are not really innovative and do not push any boundaries. Same goes for Bungie (past glories) and Riot games (milking their one big game, which isn't innovative at all).

DOTA 2 is really popular and is shaping the e-sport world (same thing for League of Legends for Riot games).

Valve keeps on releasing new amazing game and hasn't made a major mistake as a developer. The role Steam has on the increasing popularity of digital media and indie titles is noticable.

Bungie is working on something that looks great so far. They're still actual.
