Porn is a poor substitute for having a real relationship with someone.  You lack connecting with someone, lacking love, and what you have is a totally self-absorbed activity.  Focus on that can end up causing a development of preferences that aren't realistic either.  And one can say it is shallow and empty in the end also.

Not necessarily addiction, but you have cases where you end up placating with porn, and end up missing living.  The harm is in removing a drive to actually do something and change, and live in the real world.

Porn isn't supposed to be a substitute for a relationship, that's somewhat like saying that movies are a substitute for friendship. Porn is adult entertainment, and can certainly act as a good accessory to a relationship for quickly increasing the mood so that sex is more fun, or to enhance masturbation experience as a visual aid.

Individuals, who use it to placate needs, could end up just settling on porn instead of trying to find someone.  When it ends up falling into that role, then that is one of the problems with it.  The original post said nothing was wrong with porn.
