Baffles me everyday, a tool design only for 1 purpose, to kill and harm others and we can't come together and have to courage to say let's put it away? What is wrong with these people.

..and no, knives should not be ban because we use it to cook...but not gun.
..and no , cars should not be ban because primary use is transportation.

I get where you're coming from but as someone that lives in a country that has extremely strict gun laws, I can say that all the laws have done in Australia is make it difficult for law abiding citizens to own firearms. It hasn't had any effect whatsoever on criminals who disregard the law. In fact over the last year there has been an increase in gun violence.

I would say that it's more a reflection of cultural attitudes with a mix of economic hardship. It helps that in Australia we have a  robust welfare system which reduces crime to an extent.

As far as America goes you have to recognise that due to its history and people's mentality it will be difficult in the extreme to attempt what you advocate. In fact I can see thousands of people violently resisting if it ever came down to it.

@OP

I suspect this is just a formality to make it look like the politicians are doing something but nothing of consequence will happen that would affect the video games industry.
