Bull. The Romans made most of the English language. The posh intellectual part at least. With some help from the Greeks. :D
Also the World Wide Web has not been "invented" by that single guy. He had the help of a French man and the European money of the CERN. And frankly, it sucked badly. As you could expect for any program made by physicists. It just became popular because it used the IP protocol and spanned the large network of physicists and Universities around the world.In any case the hyperlink has just been an extension of the hypertext, made popular by... guess who? Apple with the Macintosh (to be further copied by MS as everything else).
