Is there any info about how much would cost as for now to develop a 4k res game?
I think the biggest drawback is that nobody will want to develop such expensive games

High res textures and assets from todays games are already good enough to take advantage of 4k.  I doubt 4k will add to the costs significantly. Crysis 3 in 4k will no doubt look much better on a PC than Crysis 3 in 1080p. Also at a certain point there will be no need for AA at all like already mentioned. I think the resolution race will be over when we reach retina quality at all distances and screensizes, this is the ultimate goal.

Oh yeah! 300 ppi on a 32 incher! Now you're talking!

I do illustration work on a PC plugged to a 32" screen (Corel Painter, Photoshop). I would benefit greatly from an added pixel density like that!

For that to happen, I'll have to wait for the 8K standard to be adopted (making a 32" screen get close to that target with 275 ppi). =(
