If the report is true and dev kits only shipped late late year...theres no way it launches this year as its only 1 year to develop the launch games. That is at the same time really bad for Sony as its garanteed that the 720 is gonna launch this year (given the countdown to E3 and the fact that there have been hardly any Xbox exclusive of late).

I don't think it means what you think it is. I without a doubt could be wrong myself here but what I think it means is the more final dev kits that will be going out (alpha kits is the name I think...come on zarx where are you?) . The dev kits have been around for a while and we have had leaks on them too. The new set of dev kits are going out now for both the next ps and xbox

I wouldn't be surprised if devs like Naughty Dog, Guerilla Games and Sucker Punch had the dev kits a long time ago. I mean Uncharted 3 was released in 2011, Killzone 3 in 2011 and inFamous Festival of Blood in 2011. They have nothing planned for the PS3 and it would probably be too late to announce any games for it now. I doubt they have just been sitting around for 1-2 years waiting for the first dev kit from Sony to come out. First party studios probably get them MUCH earlier than everyone else I would assume.
