If the report is true and dev kits only shipped late late year...theres no way it launches this year as its only 1 year to develop the launch games. That is at the same time really bad for Sony as its garanteed that the 720 is gonna launch this year (given the countdown to E3 and the fact that there have been hardly any Xbox exclusive of late).

Now, make the math. Nowadays games require 2 years development time.

Games would still be in development for them, they just wouldn't have the "first true hardware prototype devkits", but still some basic idea of what they'll be consist of. I mean, we've already seen numerous games that are clearly next gen games that have been in development for ages before that date.

I hope you're right, cause we need Sony alive in the market.
