We're talking about overall popularity of systems. The PlayStation 3 outselling the Xbox 360 on this kind of consistent basis shows the worlwide demand for PS3 is better than it is for the 360. That's the topic, thats the point, and that's the truth. That and the fact that the recent report of how the "ship through" totals of PS3 have surpassed the 360 despite the year head start that Microsoft had (and yes, that really IS extreamly relevant and telling) is proof of what the most preferred console is.
Profit and how it's determined is not relevant to this topic, nor do you know for sure how it's calculated. That's a separate topic altogether, like how much money is put into making/advertising/selling those games vs how much they bring in. So you say the 360 has a 100 million unit lead, that means squat to me, as you aren't involved in those specifics of profits I mentioned, so you can't claim that as any sort of deciding factor in any matter.
