Memory Card ties in with price problems.  So you blame it on Advertising?  The same complaint happens with PS3 games and i dont see it.  Plenty of games get a lot of advertisements for PS3 but they dont sell extremely well because they are not what a a big margin of people wants in a game. Uncharted was their big title this gen but games like Heavy Rain, InFamous, and Heavenly Sword are just titles that are good.  They will never have the same main stream effect as Halo, Mario, Gears, Call of Duty, Uncharted, etc.

I've also seen plenty of Vita adertisements.  Especially with Liberation and Unit 13 when it first came out.  Once again it comes down to these games do not have a mainstream effect.  While Liberation is branched from a game that is mainstream people look at it as a game they dont need because they can just go out and buy Assassin's Creed 3 which came out in the same time frame.  On top of that Playstation's portable market has lost trust with the hardcore market that does pay attention to niche title games like Heavy Rain, etc

Vita is an awesome piece of technology but people are not looking for a console to be the most powerful.  people want to have the most fun which you can look else where in that case.  For a site that is based around sells I see a lot of people on here that are very misinformed about a lot of things.(not talking about you)

I'm going by experience and what I see/hear from people I know where I live (along with the fact that I worked in Fry's for a few years) and I can tell you that Sony at least where I live is horrible at advertising some of their games - however they are good at advertising the PS3 and Uncharted/God of War/Gran Turismo.

There's some people who still dont know what a Vita is or what it offers - I usually tell them the pricing options and guess what, that turns them off in any interest they might of had software wise.

Anyways as for Sony's first party titles: I honestly never heard of some of the games unless I've seen them on the shelves in large amount or hear it on the internet.

I agree with the fact that their games do not have the appeal factor that Mario and Halo has and probably never will due to the fact that their designs arent just that attractive and their reputation doesnt help them either. The only games that I have played and enjoyed from Sony are:

-God of War series
-Wipeout series
-Gran Turismo series
-Jeanne D' Arc (along with Level-5)
-Ico/Shadow of Colossus
-LittleBigPlanet 2

I have yet to play Uncharted, Infamous and whatever else they have.

I've barely seen Vita advertisments, infact the Vita is placed pretty much in the back of every game department or a area where the 3DS is heavily dominating in shelves full of games and etc.

One of the reasons why AC Liberation sold so bad was the fact that when you release game on a portable and release another game of its series on 3 (or 4 in this case) platforms at the same time frame - you are gonna get bad results on the game that isnt as heavily advertised as the other one and one that sells on a system with a small userbase.

The PSP mostly flourished due to the combination of brand power/name and the fact that piracy boosted HW sales in its middle years. The Vita doesnt have that anymore. Sony just isnt the same as it was in 2005, you need to remember PSP came out after the successful PS2 while the PSVita came out after the so called failure of the PS3 which did horrible in its first few years -> This led to brand weakening, doesnt mean they need to change or drop the name - it just means they need to build themselves up again.

I agree with the fact that the Vita is a nice piece of technology and I wanted to get it first (I still wanna get it though but will be getting 3DS XL cause of Pokemon X/Y - promised myself I will get a 3DS on the same year that Pokemon comes out on it) but for me personally its not the library that is preventing me from getting the system - its the price itself as like I said before software wise I can name 10 games at least for both portables that I want that are out right now.

I pretty much agree with almost everything you said and sony is definitely not what they use to be.  I'd love to continue this conversation as you seem to actually be pretty intelligent about this, but I got to go to bed.  Maybe I'll talk to you about this later :)

Night everyone
