No one is debating this.
The interesting aspect of this point is that windows 8 is picking up marketshare faster amongst gamers than amongst rest. the latest web stats put windows 8 at 2-3% OS marketshare worldwide. So 7% on Steam is quite a difference...
Windows 8 runs Steam just fine, as well as eyefinity/nvidia surround, 3D vision and anything else gamers care about so I am not surprised it's increasing in marketshare faster.
