The only thing you can do as a manufacturer is discontinue the old, end support, and put out a new model and sell it to everyone who wants the latest games.

That's not crazy, it's good business.


I don't think they've reached that point, both Xbox 360 and PS3 (PS3 is still 300 dollars, as much as the standard Wii U) can still get cheaper and sell more, plus 3rd world markets. But the sales are down year over year, so it's a good time to release new consoles.
