The cell phone business is a very big business that has room for multiple players. Most of these articles and commentary from Enegadget and the Verge about the Xperia Z is asking the wrong question. The question shouldn't be is this phone going to knock off samsung and apple but does this phone have what it takes to be a primary flagship that can compete with the best phones and the answer is yes. And Sony/Ericsson has not been in a position like that in a long while. |
Exactly! The Z doesn't have to dethrone anyone, all it needs to do is bring Sony up to a competitive level on the high end Smartphones and capture some much needed market share. I hoped the HTC's One line could have helped them out but they didn't seem to get a boost from them. However, I believe that Sony can capitalize on this phone, high end specs, amazing looking phone, very marketable with tthe water resistance which can help differentiate their product and leave a lasting impression on people. They have all the tools in place, they just need to sell better than they have been, and continue from this year onward. they aren't going to overtake Apple or Samsung this year alone.
