Microsoft is using a projector to create a larger field of view, for the gamer. In the video you linked, Sony is using a modified Move (they have cameras on them) and the PS Eye to track the camera position so the perspective is always consistent. It's also a real-time rendering, not a visual projection that the gamer can completely see, and finally it was done in a sterile (read white) room not a realistic representation of a living room.
