i see your point but the industry is read for new consoles. i think dev's, Sony, and MS should take 2 more yr.'s and make profit off consoles they've broken to thier core (360 mainly/PS3 still some jucie left in it although most dev.'s say otherwise but i know the reason for that. it's because they don't have the tech to get that last bit out. wow this could have been a sentence) but the market for consoles are in decline, although some publishers are making record profits, while others like THQ are selling assets cause of bankruptcy and failure to make profit due to rising development cost.
the new consoles will likely lower dev. cost because from the rumors we've been getting, it seems that way, so there's your answer.
simpler consoles to lower dev. cost. hopefully. all speculation of course.
