Unfortunately for this thread this technology scares the living shit out of some on these forums. Specifically the fans of other console brands who see this kind of technology as a unthinkable threat. As such you are just going to run right into a wall of denial and dismissal. Most people who are going to post aren't going to contribute to the very real very cool possibilities this presents, but will instead do their damnedest to dismiss it outright.

I think it is a very cool, and a very useful concept for gaming. To me the most interesting thing isn't the visuals. As this technology is married to a Kinect. That means the images that are being projected can also be manipulated, or interacted with. It isn't about motion control. So much as this will allow the console to project a large virtual keyboard onto and surface, and that means as console gamers all game genres can now really be open to us. Specifically those games that need deeper interfaces then what current controllers allow.

Yeah it's always going to be the case at first. Wii, Kinect and countless other new tech was seen as the devil at first... But then a few years later.

I've seen microsoft research demo similar stuff in non gaming applications so I know they are working on tehcnology of projecting images and interacting with them. Besides, this will never be universally accepted with gaming only. It needs to support a wider set of applications like a virtual PC keyboard and interactivity with the environment.
