Same thing happened to me, I am abusive with my controllers though.
Try using something to press the tiny reset button at the back of the controller, if that doesn't work try turning the controller off by holding the PS button and turning it off, then turning it back on with the cable attatched then detatching the cable.
Make sure it's fully charged and be more careful with it.
