The same thing happened to me. I opened it and saw that the battery (supposed to be on the center kept in this possition by two plastic pieces) was loose. hmmm thats interesting i might try it, why didnt u just try doing it again after?

I did, but the second time I did it, it just lasted for about 6 days. So, I thought the next time it was going to last even less and gave up.

My5 years Sixaxis works perfectly. Is the Dualshock the one that stopped working after less than 2 years.

so wait there is a difference between sixaxis and dualshock?

Dualshock has vibration. It also weights more. Sixaxis doesn't has vibration. I think maybe the vibration causes certain part to get loose after certain use.
