My primary political philosophy actually comes from Thomas Paine, Thomas Hobbes, James Madison, John Locke, and Adam Smith (as far as economics goes - I found the American school excellent, with modifications of course.) Basically I'm a classical liberal who believe the role of a state should be a minarchist one, and the role of a federation should be an amplification of that of the state enabling efficiencies in the interactions between states. If I were to place myself on the debate of the Anti-Federalists and the Federalists at the inception of the United States I would be an Anti-Federalist, likely. Hence, another title would be a Jeffersonian Republican.
