Just to add, it's usually the "wow!" factor that sells consoles, whether it be the revolutionary graphics tech performance, the cutting edge peripherals, or the plain quality of the games. People don't want cheap, rushed to market crap that resembles last gen, so what would be the point of a 'gimped console'.
