I haven't owned a PC for about five years now. My laptop has sufficed for all my PC functionality just fine - except games. My laptop is getting on in age and I'm looking to replace it with a touch laptop/tablet unit - almost certainly with Windows 8 (unless someone else develops a op that will run on both).
What I most certainly won't be doing is spending $900-1000 on a PC which only purpose would be to play games (because I still need a laptop) when I could get the latest console for half of that or less. So there's your answer.
Although between my Wii, 360 and tablet, I doubt I'll bother to upgrade to any next gen system. I've tons to play.
