It's a cheaper console and for a parent that is buying something for his kid, he would probably go with something that has Mario on it. I don't own 3DS, and with current big titles that are out or in works, i don't feel compelled in owning one. But I do own Vita, and love both the hardware and software available on it. It's a matter of taste I guess. I did grew up on Mario, Zelda, Wario, Kirby... but at same time I did grew out of them too. |
Monster Hunter is the game that saved PSP that's why, it doesn't sell as much in the west or on home consoles but MH was a turning point for PSP as it gave new life to PSP in Japan which in turn convinced eastern developers to look at the platform with more confidence when you consider that the handheld market is very heavily driven by eastern developers performance in Japan is critical. MH is the only title that outside of Nintendo's first party can stand toe to toe with Dragon Quest in sales.
Just so you know MH Tri on the Wii broke the million barrier outside of Japan.
