It was still very unlucky and probably very embarassing for Sony.

yea, especially because it's probably the most prestigious device they announced - no other manufacturer has touched OLED 4K yet afaik, so that this prototype presentation failed is a shame

It's just... I thought 3d was going to be... better in the future... I kind of wish they would fix 3d so that it actually worked before they made tvs into resolutions the human eye can't even comprehend...

well, I think it's already pretty good now, especially "Child of Eden" in 3D is amazing

other than glasses free 3D the next big step is getting rid of eye strain due to the footage focussing on other things than you do - I'd imagine that would be some kind of "lightfield" 3D, but that tech probably is a decade or 2 off
