At this point it doesn't matter and frankly, I'm not sure why anyone would pretend that it does unless they were digging up a 6-7 year bet or prediction. "Prediction" generally being a no money bet that anyone can make without repercussion.
For the purposes of the VGC forums where predictions are more like a game than serious business (isn't all internet related jibber jabber serious business though?), I suppose it matters on a personal level who was right, who was wrong, and who was just plain batshit crazy when it came to predictions. For some it matters because it's fun to laugh at what was said, and to others, it matters because yes; they are just that petty.
On a Serious level, it probably stopped mattering around 2010 when all major development support was more or less determined for the current generation of consoles.
