It is a demanding game. There's a good breakdown of the limits of what can be shown on a PC, and what the home consoles can reproduce. They can't do what the PC can do because the game goes beyond their limits. Side-scroller means nothing other than the perspective from which the game world is shown. It's in full 3D. When you move around, background opjects completely change...it's not background layers. At least not entirely. Water and other effects are outstanding.
