Google's war on Microsoft only results in consumer casualties

I find this (kind-of) funny because about 12 years ago Microsoft was screwing up the styling on MSN for anyone who used a browser except for IE, and the most common "fix" was simply to set your user-agent to report as IE and the pages loaded perfectly. Opera took this a little further, and they created rules in the browser to fix the mark-up and to have the page "translated" to read like it was written by the Sweedish Chef from the Muppets.

Now, this isn't meant as a defence of google, but I do find it funny that Microsoft is upset that it is getting burned by the same kind of business practices they invented.
