I think I could have been pretty close to unbiased, though. During the PS1 and PS2 days, I LOVED Sony. To a degree, I still do. I'm going to be accused of generalizing but it is what it is: During the older gens, PS1 players didn't seem to always attack N64 owners or relish in Nintendo's bad news. PS2 owners didn't seem to always attack Gamecube/Xbox owners. Because of the internet? No. Remember, I survived the 16-Bit wars where EVERYBODY attacked everybody else.
I had an N64 and a PS1 back in the late 90's. (n 1997, I sold the N64, despite my love for Nintendo because I needed money. Sony was obviously the better choice (for me) at the time. I loved my Gamecube but I supported and played the PS2 faaaaar more. Even when it came to multiplats, I went with the PS2 90% of the time. Hell, I even love my Vita (bought it on day one!) and I still think the PSP was the greatest portable of its day (still own two of them and they get played at least weekly).
So, why does the PS3 get so much flack from me, now? I know that everybody does it but goddam. This gen, I've come across so much pro-PS3 propaganda. So much over-hyping about how "This PS3 exclusive makes this Xbox 360 game look last gen!" or "This console is such garbage compared to the PS3" that it has actually made me seek out the flaws of what is really a pretty impressive console. Were it not for a vocal minority that haven't tried the competition, ALWAYS attacking everybody else or pretending that every release was the second coming of Jesus Christ, I'd probably love my PS3 a lot more than I do. It's crazy that I paid $500+ for a console, support in, use it daily, and I almost take pleasure when I see bad Sony news.
