Well, it's kind of understandable from a business perspective why google would do this. If windows devices become huge then a side effect of that will be increased bing marketshare. Remember, google is an advertising company and they need their browser to be popular as its where 95% of their income comes from.

Google search is supported by the biggest mobile browser out there...on iOS you can search google right from Safari without even going to Google.com

I think I know what's going on here........you are confusing the word "browser" with "search engine"........

Google's Browser is Google Chrome, they're search engine is "Google".
