Okay, the greatest dragon in Westeros since, you're right, Valyria probably had some really enormous dragons, and Aegon is the one who first brought dragons to Westeros. Dance with Dragons took unusually long because he got into a knot trying to figure out how Daenerys was supposed to leave Meereen. (A Dance with Dragons spoiler). And he took a fair bit of it (150 page or so I believe) and put them into Winds of Winter, so fingers crossed it'll be out within a couple of years. Plus he has the pressure from the HBO show, which he doesn't want to overtake him. I have read Kingkiller, yes, and it's an enormously different style of book, but I love that too. I'm currently trying to work my way through the obnoxiously long Wheel of Time series; I'm on book 10 out of 14. That's more similar political fantasy, especially later in the series. You know, I think I'll make an ASOIAF discussion thread. |
Yeah, im up to speed on wheel of time, good series if you take out all the books between 7 and 11. Jordan lost his way and there were books were nothing happened. Sanderson seems to have done a great job taking over though. His books are probably the best in the series.
