From a gamer point of view on final fantasy xi im gonna say the Japanese. Back in the day on ff you would be 5/6 members of a party and the only other in level range would be a Japanese person with the search message "english party thanks for the offer but ill have to pass" soooo annoying.
Most refused to play with us English speaking because they claimed we werent up to their standard and would rather spend hours with their flag up waiting for a invite :(
Though even with that in mind I wouldnt have wanted split servers because I mate some really nice mates from Japan on ffxi.
