Kwaad said: I just want to say my first Nintendo game I loved. Was duck hunt. I got it when it was new. If people dont tire of the DS it will be the first console in all history to acquire that. I can see it now. 2312: yeah, I hate my PS55. I like my good-ol. 307 year old DS! EDIT: Really? people are tired of the PSP? it hasnt lost market share against the DS really. As a rule of thumb, that is a major success when trying to knock someone down off 100% market share.
Um, what? People have only "tired" of consoles (ie, stopped buying them in bulk), when support has dropped on them in favor of newer systems. Systems like NES, PS1, GB, etc., have maintained spectacular sales for 8 and 9 years, a feat that PS2 will now repeat. DS has only been out for just over 2 years, and looks on track to capture 2/3rd of the handheld market. Unless Nintendo releases a new handheld in the next 3 years, I don't see why DS won't maintain great sales for another FIVE YEARS. Plenty of time for Wii to come into its own... If people aren't tired of the PSP yet, they will be soon, as the massive sales lead of DS will mean it gets the bulk of software. PSP sales are actually fairly impressive, but when you get behind, there is an inevitable shift in support which makes you get WAY behind.
EG: When I'm tired of Brain Training on my DS. Chances are. I'll be tired of it on my Wii. When I'm tired of picking up Puppy poo on my DS... Chances are. Why would I want to do it on the Wii?
There's nothing like Wii Sports on DS, buddy.

"[Our former customers] are unable to find software which they WANT to play."
"The way to solve this problem lies in how to communicate what kind of games [they CAN play]."

Satoru Iwata, Nintendo President. Only slightly paraphrased.
