French site ITRgames has got hold of some overall sales data for Nintendo's consoles. The short of it is, the French are going nuts nuts for Nintendo hardware. The Wii has sold an impressive 410,000 units since December, while the DS is even more impressive, with 2.54 million sold since launch.

Accompanying the big Nintendo love-in were some first-quarter figures for all consoles:

  • DS - 398,000
  • Wii - 230,000
  • PS2 - 92,000
  • PSP - 90,000
  • PS3 - 81,000
  • 360 - 43,000
  • Interesting. The DS and Wii, we know about them, they sell, with the PSP and PS3 assuming their regular places towards the rear. Big change here, though, is the 360, which the French obviously believe to be carrying smallpox within its creamy exterior. That's all I can think of to explain its dismal sales. That or the fact it's American.
