3: Brand new Nintendo franchise will be announced for Wii U

Nintendo is in no shortage of successful franchises, but it’s been a while since the company introduced a truly new and innovative game franchise. That was with Pikmin, and that was over 10 years ago. All things considered, Nintendo has probably the most talented game developers in the world, and one of the most visionary game developers ever: Shigeru Miyamoto.

With the new gameplay mechanics offered by the Wii U, Miyamoto and his team are undoubtedly working on something new. And that might very well be an entirely new Nintendo franchise that starts on the Wii U.

I don't get how even Nintendo fans get this fact completely wrong.  While Nintendo doesn't make slews of new game or a franchise every year, it has introduced quite a few in the past 10 years, lets count.

1.The Wii franchise (Wii Party, Wii Music ect.....)

2.Wii fit

3.Xenoblade

4.Nintendogs

5.the eshop originals (Pushmo/Crashmo (would this be considered the "Mo" franchise?), Dillon's ect....)

6.The WiiWare originals (fluidity  ect...)

And I'm sure I'm missing quite a few. I know that this isn't the incredible levels of innovation that everyone wants but its not "no new franchise for 10 years".  I don't even know why I'm posting it here, I just don't get why none of these are considered "new IP".  If its because most of them are casually oriented, well Xenoblade isn't.  And you can't accuse them of being Niche.  So what is it that makes these games inelligable to be considered new IP?  Nintendo created far more franchise this gen than with the Gamecube but everyone keeps talk about how they've stopped innovating. I just don't get it :(.
