It's interesting that a whole industry - which widely ignores (and often hates on) the classic adventure genre - sees an interactive movie as the 2nd coming. Dragon's Lair 2012.

My thoughts exactly. The story is good but as a game or even adventure game it's severly lacking.
What's the point in letting you choose between 3 different answers if all lead to the same conclusion or even the exact same response. It doesn't help that it's often missing what I want to say/do or that the timer has run out before I complete reading the possible responses to choose the least mismatching one. I'm halfway through episode 4 and the only significant change so far is who tags along during episode 2. Even DA2 did choice better then twd.

Maybe it shows how starved critics are for a half decent emotional story. Maybe that's only possible without the interruption of actual gameplay or fancy graphics to ogle at. Maybe it's the comic book and tv series that finally made them check out one of those icky adventure games.

Anyway I'm still enjoying it despite the frustrations of gameplay and fake choice. I'm also starved for a decent emotional story, and let's face it there isn't all that much choice for that on consoles. So yeah, let it be goty and hopefully more adventure games with good writing will make it to consoles.
