Anecdotal evidence is irrelevant. I don't know any PS3 owners off of the Internet that play any Sony franchises. It's all Madden, Call of Duty, and Battlefield. See how that works? And guess what? Software sales show we're both right. 2 MS games in the 360's top 10 (again, not counting Kinect Adventures) and 2 Sony games in the PS3 top 10. Maybe people play CoD and other multiplatform games on 360 because they are better there? Anyone who has played CoD knows this to be the case.

If the 360 has a huge inflated user base because of RROD then what does that say about PS3 gamers in regards to software sales? Not a hot look.

Well ps3 has more exclusives so the sales are spread out rather than concentrated on 2 or 3 franchises for a whole gen

Again, in each console's top 10 you have only 2 games from MS and Sony. The rest are 3rd party and virtually the exact same breakdown of franchises/genre.

I am not sure what exclusives have to do with the sales of 3rd party games anyway. You said that gamers play such and such franchises on 360 only because it launched earlier and PS3 was too expensive, I am simply saying that in the case of a lot of franchises (especially the one you listed, CoD) people play it on 360 simply because it plays better there.

Technically, we don't know how well a lot of SW sells on the 360, since MS doesn't give SW numbers in their fiscal reports.  All we get are some of the numbers for top tier games, if a comany so chooses to release them.  For all we know, PS3 may have very well have passed it in SW totals.

And for all we know - there are people living on the moon.

We have plenty of other hard factual data from multiple reliable sources that suggests they don't, but hey, until we get their numbers - who can tell!

Viva la Moon People!
