Now that the new head of PS decided to drop the "updated CELL" version of PS4.. It'll be interesting to see how the PS4 turns out because it'll be much more like an Xbox.. ( More like a PC ) ..

Right now you have the Wii U which is about twice as powerful and todays 360/PS3.. the problem you run into is if ONE makes their console more powerful it also has a higher selling point.. They've already proven the most powerful console doesn't win.. They've also proven the most powerful console doesn't necessarily have better games.. An argument was made the Cell CPU in PS3 is slightly more powerful then the 360 CPU.. the major problem being game developers make games around the GPU ( not the CPU ) .. The 360 had a more slightly powerful GPU.. In order for games to look amazing on the PS3 they had to be optimized around CELL.. not the gpu.. this took way more man hours ( labor ) which = MONEY... Sony is wise to get away from CELL and start catering to developers - Instead of having the "We're Sony - You make games around our hardware, however unfriendly it can be "
