I am not going to deny that certainly older generation processors sometimes do come down in price, but it's not very often that the price difference is enough to sway a consumer to buy older tech.

Right now MicroCenter sells i5 2500K for $140 with $6 shipping in the US but since Sandy Bridge came out on January 2011, I never once recall MC selling i5 2500K with shipping (it was in-store only usually) for this low:

Chances are i5 3570K at $189.99 at MicroCenter will be replaced with i5 4670K at the same $189.99 price, with i5 3570k falling to i5 2500K's price of $159.99 at this store. On Newegg, sells i5 2500K between $200-220 depending on the week and i5 3570K goes for $215-220. There isn't much difference. I doubt i5 3570K will drop to $150 in retail except at places like Fry's and MicroCenter when Haswell launches.
