Xbox 720 is the next-generation console coming from Microsoft and one very prevalent member of the gaming industry believes it will be the console that connects everything together for one entertainment package.

According to a report from Latinos Times yesterday, "Metal Gear Solid's" Hideo Kojima said Microsoft's next-generation console, the Xbox 720, will need to connect all forms of entertainment to the one system.

"Well I really feel that there needs to be a lot of interconnectivity, just with other devices and anything out there.

"So then whether it's media, music, all that, it's all connected with that console so we could do it over cell phones and tablets. All that interconnected in one place, as one media," Kojima said.

With Microsoft's Xbox SmartGlass tablet, it will no doubt play a major role in the over function and connectivity of the Xbox 720.

Previous reports regarding the Xbox 720 have painted to system as being "the most powerful out of all the next-gen consoles. [It will be] about 4 to 6 times more powerful than Wii U and 2 to 3 times more powerful than Playstation Omni. The project has gone through many name iterations and will not be decided on until shortly before it’s E3 unveiling.

"The system is going to be very expensive in the $499 range so Microsoft is planning on using a remodeled Xbox Live (Possibly renamed X-Box Life) [and will] offer a Pro (Gold) subscription [with a] two or three-year contract to sell with the unit at $300 – $399.

"The final goal with the tech is to shrink the system on a chip down enough so it can be put into tablets, PCs and Smart TVs so that all devices are Xbox ready," the report stated.
