3 cores @1.25 is (not a little bit, a lot) slower than 8 or 16 cores @ 1.6

Not necessarly. Depends on the CPU tech. And other rumors pointed out that half of the cores will be used for kinect. So it seems true that all next gen consoles will have similar power.

If that is true then a basic $600-$700 PC will wipe the floor with all the consoles, which is really just someones laptop and console budget combined.
My 3 year old PC hammers the crap out of the Wii U in everyway and it's using yester-years tech e.g. DDR2 RAM and a phenom II. The consoles are going to have to watch out for the steam box if they really think seriously low-clock speeds are going to give them next-gen capabilities.

Ok mods, id like to know why Mazty was banned when its clear looking at this comment it was keroncoward who trolled Mazty and other pc gamers such as myself with a comment like "So much power just to play an exclusive like Farmville." I want to know why was Mazty banned and keroncoward was left off the hook like nothing happened...

Mazty is the one who brought PC in the conversation and then basically talked down upon consoles. At that time they both looked foolish but it wasn't til the point when he blamed keroncoward for being a coward and having a bad christmas. The argument should have never went that far and they both should have dropped it.

It should of been dropped with keroncoward getting a warning for trolling PC Gamers. That would of put a stop to the whole thing!.
Also Mazty never even said he had a powerful pc! he said he had a low spec PC. Plus Mazty'z comment was valid. If all the consoles next gen are going to be pretty much the same as the WiiU in terms of specs, a Cheap PC will be more powerfull then them.

I don't know it was getting out of hand though. I tried to get them to chill but that didn't work.
And yes if they are all going to be close to the WiiU power wise then yes a cheap PC. I expect the NeXbox/PS4 to be around a midrange PC. Developers do focus more on consoles so games will improve on PC as well so that is a plus.
