There where a lot of people who bemoaned the fact that the PS3 wasn't the PS2 incarnate when it came to sales and now some people seem to feel the same way about the Wii U compared to the Wii , my take on the sales is it's to early to get an accurate read but my instinct says going forward much like happening now the console sales will be split between the 3 players , As to the Wii U it's following a product that became for a time not just a games device but the next big or for want of a better word a trend , most trends are either replaced after there 15 minutes of fame with the next big thing or become cyclical like the yo yo craze of the 1960's popping up again every few years , now the fact that the Wii had more to it than just the next big thing meant the fifteen minutes of fame lasted a lot longer than most and the nature of the console market rules out the yo yo phenomenon , so you could either see the success as one off and move on (extremely hard to do as it filled with so many negatives) , or try to replicate it with your product through refinement or by coming up with something new that strikes a similar cord with consumers including as I think of them Nintendo gamers and Wii gamers that is the type of dilemma that faces a product following on from success based on differing from the from the norm .
