RAM doesn't run multiple processes. All RAM amount means is more data can be stored. And if they're efficient about it they don't need 8GB, but they might as well because RAM is cheap. If your computer had 1000GB of RAM it wouldn't run any faster.
The limiting factors on performance is graphic card, followed by CPU.
