actually no evidence points to that.

No one here know how much 65 nano chips, droping BR costs and lack of emotion engine will save on hardware production.

ADD the fact of BR domiation of hddvd, no one here knows how much BR success off sets PS3 costs short term or long term.

Dude what are you smoking. Give me some of it. First of all EVERYTHING says that Sony can't afford a $300 dollar price cut (they need a $100 one minimum though). SCE lost more money than Sony as an entire COMPANY grossed during the last fiscal year and that was while only losing 200 bucks per PS3. If they lower the price to $300 that would more than double their profit losses, completely bankrupting not only SCE but Sony as well.

Second, BR lead over HD-DVD isn't that big, and both of them are complete flops. Both are gaining so little ground at all on DVD sales that BR is a moot point. No one cares. The picture upgrade is nowhere near worth the cost of the player and the cost of 30 bucks a movie. By the time BR has killed HD-DVD something much better will be out and BR will die instantly. Everything is moving towards movies being downloaded rather than purchased on any disc format. Why does every person with a game system think they are suddenly an electronics expert?

Edit: Before anyone says they will gain ground when HD-TV penetration is higher, I own a 42 inch plasma and have no intention whatsoever of changing formats. I know a lot of people who are the same way. Hell, I play my Wii and PS2 on that 42 inch plasma.

apperantly you think you are a electronics expert.

Any proof sony cant afford a price cut, NO. Just your opinion. Like i said before 65 nano chips, no emotion engine and Br diods that went form +$100 to below $10. Its obvios you have no clue how much it will save in hardware costs.

70% of USA market, +90% of Japan, +80% Europe, yahh not a big lead.

Br is out pacing dvd, the first Br movie to hit 100k did in it half the time it a dvd to hit 100k.

what we do know is you are posting nothing but fud.

Uh, buddy. The burden of proof rests with you. If you are going to start giving specific numbers then back them up. Of course, the obvious fanboy BS that reeks from your post is enough to knock most people back. I can't say how much it's changed but I have Febuary data calling them tied (with a slight advantage to HD-DVD). So don't give me this bullshit you pulled out of your ass about 70% of the market. http://www.tvpredictions.com/bluhddvd020507.htm. Now Blu-Ray movie sales have been better (60% to 40%) but you are making up some ridiculous crap. The last info is per wikipedia

Oh and yes, Blu-Ray had a 100,000 seller 2 months before DVD, but if you compare the amount of people who own TVs at all now to the amount who did in 1996 the difference is actually in DVD's favor. It actually is NOT gaining very quickly on DVD.

Blu-Ray's problems don't end there. With the loss of the support of the porn industry and solid competition the chances of it winning before a better format come out are very low. Add to that the fact that Sony is in violation of a patent with the Blu-Ray technology which, depending on how the lawsuit works out, could lead to either the end of blu-ray entirely or massive recalls to replace the infringed technology with new patent free technology and Sony has a lot to deal with.

In the end, it's a war to the cheapest price. Do you know why VHS beat betamax? It's cause they were able to sell a VHS player for under $200. Whichever format is the first to make it under that $200 mark will win, I would bet you everything I own that that is a certainty. But, go ahead. If it makes you love your PS3 more pretend that the entire world is raging for Blu-Ray and we all can't live without it.

Keep those ridiculous statements to yourself though if you aren't going to back anything you say up with facts. Your opinions are your opinions but don't support them with false data.

no buddy all you have is opinions and false data.
