That's pretty much how I see it. When console games take that "crown", it's usually by a large margin (one of the reasons I argued for Killzone 3 against Crysis 2 - because Killzone 3 swept away "best console graphics" points).

Although Uncharted 3 is still regarded as the best looking thing on consoles by a huge amount, Halo 4 gets props from me!

That's really not true anymore and almost as bad as the OPs best ever on console statement.  People significantly more qualified than you or I have stated Halo 4 was better or on par to Uncharted 3.  I'm aware some "experts" even say its close but Uncharted 3 is better but none have said Uncharted 3 is a huge amount better.  Its simply not the case fella.  I will of course conceded you may consider it artistically better by a huge amount but it didn't appear that way to me either tbh.

To the OP, Halo 4 is the best looking title on consoles this year, it really isn't definitively the best looking game ever by any stretch as is demonstrated in the mixed opinions on tech sites.  

To add something extra into the mix, one of the nominees I have for best looking console game ever is Zelda Wind Waker, a technical and artistic masterpiece, I really wish they would revisit the art style with a title on the Wii U (I might actually buy one then).
