As for MS slight uptick in marketshare, I'm sure that has to do with the W8 release, as well. We'll have to see where they sit at in a quarter or two, just like Apple/Android.


A lot of people have played the seasonality card to downplay the iOS surge. The problem is, this is a year over year comparison, so we're comparing the surge of this year's iPhone with the surge of last year's iPhone. Seasonality is already accounted for.

iPhone marketshare most probably will settle down in the US, maybe even back below Android share in the next few quarters, but that doesn't mean it isn't growing and seizing share from Android in the US. It clearly is. And that has implications for how successful Android's "marketshare at any price" land grab has really been.
